sentOsa...

yesterday was great!!!

i went to sent-O-sa in the middle of my 'O' Levels!!!

i'm still having my Physics and Chemistry MCQs next monday...

anyway, today was worth celebrating... at least for those sub-science students from my class (i.e. adeline, joey and mitchell) who finished their 'O' Levels on tuesday.. so they planned to celebrate at sentOsa... well, glory, zhengjie and i tagged along! XD

there were many silly things that happened today.. the first of which was when we were on our way to the sentosa express (monorail) station at vivocity... we were quite lost as we didn't know where it was.. so we ended up on the rooftop of vivocity... joey had bought some chicken wings to bring to sentOsa.. as we were very 'high' that day (especially mitchell)... mitchell began to toss a chicken wing in the air telling us to look at how the chicken wing could fly... that poor 'bird' ended up crashing to the ground... glory tried to do the same, i guess wanting to have a part of the fun too... anyway, she kinda missed. and here is where it ended up...

the whole plastic bag of the chicken wing, complete with packets of chilli sauce and serviettes, landed on the roof.. hmm... i wonder what has become of it... lol.

when we arrived there, we went swimming in the sea and even swam to the island across the Siloso beach... there, we tossed 'sand balls' into the sea and lazed about in the squishy sand... we found two coconuts on the island and brought them back with us to siloso... glory was suggesting that we break open the coconuts.. then mitchell told joey how she could rub sand on a coconut emerged in water to open it... the rest of us also started to explain to her that there was a certain part of the coconut that was thinner so she could use that method.. in the end, we saw joey attempting to rub the sand on the coconut with all her effort to open the coconut.. finally, we all ended up bursting in to laughter as it was such an amusing sight to see her gullibility...

in the end, zj managed to rip open the coconuts with the help of mitchell's (dad's) swiss army knife and a rock in the beach... unfortunately, it was all rotten inside and it even smelt like eggs... eww... anyway, after playing in the water and also on the beach (volleyball), we decided to go off to the Imbiah lookout as mitchell suggested to have a look at a 'new' ride there... so we got our stuff and headed on our way...

we walked pass a platform of small fountains of water and decided to 'wash our feet' from the sand... but, it didn't stop there!! in the end, we put down all our belongings and started splashing water at each other... mitchell went on to shout victory cries from the freedom of the 'O' levels... we even used our slippers to slapped the water that squirted out! it was really the climax!! all soaked, we decided that we should go as we were becoming an exhibition as batches of people on the trams were looking at us... (and my neck was already SUNBURNT! lol.)

however, the incident that i really remember the most about that day was meeting some 'lost' Japanese guys.. we were just done 'splashing' and were going to see the Imbiah lookout.. we were not sure how to get there so we went to look at the map of sentosa on a directory.. suddenly, two japanese students (they were wearing uniforms) came to us to ask for directions.. they were actually unsure of whether they wanted to ask us, but finally decided to do so... at first we had trouble understanding what they wanted as one of them was trying to communicate with us in english... he was pointing to his map of sentOsa that was in Japanese and that did not make it any easier... lol. we tried to speak in chinese to them but that didn't work.. joey tried some jap but she could only say 'sayonara'... that didn't work either... finally, after much body language and pointing, we figured that they also wanted to get to somewhere around the Imbiah lookout!! so i suggested that they follow us there... even that was hard to communicate to them... but when they finally understood, they were so happy and kept thanking us...

we were planning to take the monorail but they didn't have the tickets.. so we brought them to the station to help them purchase some.. there, the lady at the counter tried to help us with our language barrier (although she also couldn't speak the language) and managed to find out more about them.. they were on a school trip and were driven into sentOsa probably via coach (we couldn't figure out the exact transport that he meant)... the lady was then relieved as we made her job easier when we told her that we would take them to their destination.. lol. she told us that we could take the 'blue line' bus which was a free shuttle that would get us to Imbiah...

since we were going with them, on the way to the bus bay, i decided to do some self-introductions... i found out that their names were Rui Ito and Ikihito respectively... they were from a place near Hokkaido in Japan (that i can't remember) that starts with 'A'... Ikihito was 17 and Rui was about to become the same age later this month... then on the bus, we had fun trying to recall each others' names... hearing them pronounce our names was so interesting and we almost made them believe that mitchell's name was pronounced like 'itch' with a 'b' in front of it... there were 3 guys and girls each in our group and that was probably the reason why Rui asked if we were couples... then came the resounding denials with mitchell insisting that joey's boyfriend was a 'rat' (toby)... they didn't get the joke but that made us laugh really madly..

Ikihito was much quieter but we found out that he was in swimming and Rui was in table-tennis & a sniper club in his school (if that's what i guessed correctly)... on the other hand, we had a terrible time trying to explain our CCAs like BB and NCC to them... we could only successfully relate joey's table-tennis to them... haha.. then joey spotted Rui's phone and tried to ask if she could have a look at it... when he finally understood, we were all amazed at the unique design only to find out from him that he thought that the design was 'not good'... lol.. we ended up talking about japanese brands including the volleyball that we had and the sweets that they showed us!!

anyway, we finally got to Imbiah and they thanked us again continuously.. they managed to find their school mates and initiated to take a group photo!

before they left, Rui gave me all his coins (2 '5 yen' & 2 '1 yen') in his wallet for me to buy "gum and chocolate"... i had told him that i was going to visit Hokkaido in december and he even reminded me that it was going to be very cold there! i was so blessed by this encounter and will definitely remember this! my only regret was forgetting to get their contact so that i could keep in touch with them... but, who knows, i may just see them in Japan in the future.....

Common Test is OVER!

Common Test is OVER!

PRELIMS are in 2 weeks!!

so from today onwards, i'm going to embark on a study plan that jiahui suggested to me..

here is the plan:

  • everyday at 8pm, i will spend 30mins doing my Quiet Time (QT) with God and writing in my prayer journal.

  • later, at 8pm, i will complete some of my past year papers that jiahui got me to buy:
    -Monday & Thursday, Chemistry [do 2 Paper 1 AND/OR 1 Paper 2]
    -Tuesday & Friday, Additional Mathematics [do 1 Paper 1 AND/OR Paper 2]
    -Wednesday & Saturday, Physics [do 2 Paper 1 AND/OR 1 Paper 2]

(i will make sure that i do these papers because they cost $18!!! i don't want to waste $$ la... haha..)

  • also, every saturday is my MSN day! (today XD) so i'm not allowed to use the computer for the rest of the week!!

  • my 'O' Level Targets are placed right in the middle of my wall. jiahui helped me to set these targets by subtracting some numbers from the grade that i felt that i could achieve for each subject.. so now i end up targeting for an L1R4 of 7, and an L1R5 of 9!!! (that seems crazy... but with God, anything is possible...)

  • to ensure that i keep working towards doing my goal of doing well for my 'O's.. i have put up some motivation cards on my wall: "$18", "FOCUS NOW", "STUDY! i'm watching" (drawing of johnson's eyes), "JIAHUI'S TREAT IS WAITING FOR ME!! if i meet my targets" and etc.. haha.. he said he would treat me.. but just don't know what.. hmm..

well, i guess that i have to work really hard now as my prelims are coming.. hmm.. i will post my prelim schedule next time (probably next saturday)... for now, i shall enjoy my last few hours of using the computer this week.........

i'm scared...

i tried today..

i really did...

i told myself that i would study really hard in school today... i was planning to stay awake and pay attention to every single lesson for the whole day..

but, i found it so difficult just to keep up with the lesson.. when i could not understand the first lesson, my mood had been so dampened that i could not really focus for the rest of the day...

by the end of the whole day, i realised how far behind i was in my studies... i never knew how much i didn't know.... now i know that there is a lot more that i need to know!

i'm really scared.

i don't know if i can keep up with my studies... there isn't much time left.. with so much pressure, i keep thinking of just giving up... but something keeps telling me to 'be strong' and 'pull myself together'... but, i think if this carries on...

i may just 'SNAP'...

and it will all be over...

will it?

B4 i PASS, but i Didn't Pass Anyway...

B4 i PASS, but i Didn't Pass Anyway...

today is SAD..

i finally got my Chinese 'O' Level results at 11.35am just now...
we all waited outside the Seminar Room as the teacher called us up one by one to show us our result.. when she got to the last person on her list, a group of us still had not gotten our results...
so we went up to her and told her our 'O' Level index number to get it..

i got a B4 with a PASS for my oral...

i'm feeling ok about it... at least i passed and i was close to my target (B3)... i don't know if i want to retake it, but i was planning to base my decision on my DPA result.. if i got into Ngee Ann via DPA, i won't have to worry about retaking my Chinese 'O' Level...

the DPA results was to be released at 2pm online... i could not wait for school to be over.. and when it finally did, the whole group of us went up to the MRL to check our results online at the computers.. Jessica, Li Lin, Mitchell & i were there to see our results, while Glory, Jason, Jin Shi, Shi Jia, & Yu Jia were there to support us...

i didn't get in... only Li Lin got into Biotechnology at Nanyang Polytechnic... i'm really glad for her that she got into the course of her interest..

but i'm just disappointed that i could not get in... i really wanted it... a lot...

actually, i told myself even before i got any of my results that i would accept whatever result i got... i had convinced myself that anything that happened would be part of God's plan...

however, when i really got my results... i didn't feel sad or angry... i just felt so lost.. and confused.. i was thinking to myself, "what should i do now?" i lost my purpose...

i tried reminding myself that it was God's plan...

BUT, i did not know what His plan was for me!
that's what made me feel so lost... i still feel confused... many ppl have encouraged me.. i have heard them.. and i thank them... but, my heart is still feeling so heavy... why do i feel so burdened?

i thought that i already told myself that i will put in my 100% to study? why do i feel like giving up? when will all this pain go away???

i still love you, God...

tomorrow is 13 August....

ahhhhhhhhhhh....

tmr is 13 August 2007!!!!!

so many things happening tmr....
  • it's my DADDY'S birthday!!!!
  • results of Chinese 'O' Level are out tmr!!!!
  • start of English Language 'O' Level Oral!!!!
  • results of Direct Polytechnic Admission!!!!

i don't know what to feel now... i'm not sure how much shock i can take!!

i have some expectations, but i also don't want to give myself false hope...

what should i FEEL??

hmm...

i hope to get at least a B3? for my Chinese 'O' Levels..

and of course i hope to get into Ngee Ann Poly for Mass Communication via DPA... but i don't know if that is what God really wants for me... so... i guess i will work VERY hard into studying... i will not let myself down by not putting in my 100% for my studies...

well, its all up to tmr then... just keeping myself ready to accept whatever God has for me...

jiayou, SEAN!!! XD

National Day Special...

HAPPY NATIONAL DAY!!!!

ok, fine... i know that i am abit late (now it is 12.37am on 10 August) but i was not free to blog about it yesterday...

after a whole day of preparations for the BB stall for the carnival (8 August), the NDP and POP parades and the final clearing up of the school, i finally left the school at about 11pm..

oh ya.. i was quite happy too 'coz i won a LUCKY DRAW PRIZE!!! 17th Prize!!! yay... i was so excited coz i never won that kind of prize before... haha... and i got a 'Design Factory' toolbox... cool right... but now i'm not sure what i will do with it... lol...

anyway... jieyi, jiahui and i left together with yanling and wilson as we went to have our supper at yishun while they went home... we went to macdonald's and i was really hungry and tired (and busy smsing...)

then jieyi's father came to bring her home... by then it was about 11.30pm already... i didn't have much energy left to go home and i had a lot of things to carry.. so jiahui suggested that i stay over at his place... i didn't mind as i was really tired and it would be fun...

so i quickly called home and then we set off to his house! we wanted to get back in time to do a countdown for National Day!! haha... however, we soon realised a problem... i only had extra shirt and shorts, but no underwear!!!

~censored~

so i had a nice warm shower... but by the time i got out, it was already National Day!!! we suddenly felt quite awake, so we watched X-Men (movie) until a few minutes past 2am... it was a really nice movie... then after that, we went to sleep....

the next morning, i got up at about 8.30am and then jiahui and i watched youtube videos until 11.30am... i wonder how we made the time pass so fast... we spent so much time laughing at madtv spoofs and being amazed at incredible magic tricks... it was cool...

then i quickly went home to put down all my stuff and i came back to j8 to meet the sec4 seniors for lunch at yoshinoya... after lunch, we went to buy some snacks for the BBQ and then we looked about for ms lim's birthday (10 Aug) present.. here is what we bought:

  1. a big pink box with pink pokka dots
  2. a pink squid plushie handphone holder
  3. a pink doughnut from 7-eleven
  4. a pink furry dice from mini toons
  5. a bouquet of 5 different shades of pink flowers

we bought 5 items for her to represent the 5th Student Council... haha...

then we went down via bus 13 to East Coast Park, Area C, BBQ Pit 7... lol.. then we started the BBQ fire... haha..

while waiting for the teachers to come, some of us went down to the beach and dunked jinshi into the sea 5 times!! haha.. that was fun...

the whole BBQ was a good time of jokes and fellowship... then i finally came home with jiang wei on a long and comfortable bus ride...

now i'm really tired, so i'm going to sleep now... Happy Birthday, Singapore!!! XD

ice-cream talk...

wow....

today was really interesting... the school walls were vandalised.

but PHS is a School Without Walls..
And we are Built To Last.
There is only one life, and it will pass..
Only what is done for God will last..

after school and all the cleaning and painting of the walls...
i left school with jiahui...
he then asked me to have ice-cream with him... and i ended up having an 'ice-cream talk' with him until about 8plus... he shared with me some Bible verses and his experiences... and really enlightened me on what to do...

why should i worry so much about the things happening around me? my life's purpose is not meant for making things 'perfect'... it is to do God's work and to bless the people around...

thank God for jiahui that He sent him to show me that...

he really blessed me XD

so... now what?

i have done so many things already... in BB and council...

so..... now what?

i don't know what to do...

i know that i have to stop being involved in BB and council already..
although i have officially stepped down from both, i still haven't really let go of them and begun to focus on my studies...

i still feel so worried about them... although i told myself that i can trust them since they were sec3, since we were sec3 before and we slowly learnt to cope with handling the BB and council, so they should be able to do the same too... or maybe even better...

however... so many things have happened since we handed over our roles and responsibilties... things don't seem to be going well, yet they don't seem to realise that... i guess its coz us (sec4s) did not do a proper handover and did not teach them well... it could be that we still think too highly of ourselves... and feel that the sec3s cannot "match up to our standard"...

but is that really true?

i don't really know that answer... maybe someone could help me with that...

what i should be doing now is studying... but i don't really have any purpose now... i feel so tired all the time... i think i need a break... but can i even afford it?

the common tests, prelims and the big "O" are coming soon... one after another... God, please help me to make the right decisions...

PORTFOLIO.....

hey... its been quite tiring the past few days...
i was sick, but i returned to school after 2 days of MC...
however, i have not fully recovered yet...

i have been busy compiling my portfolio recently...
i'm preparing for my Direct Polytechnic Admission (DPA)...
i applied for Mass Communication at Ngee Ann Polytechnic...
although they have not called me up for an interview yet, but i have started preparing my portfolio so that i will be prepared for it...

i am really passionate about studying the course of my interest... however, my studies at the moment are not really good enough for me to do so.. so i'm am just praying that i will be able to get into Ngee Ann Poly via DPA so that my dream can come true...

but, if i don't get in, i believe that God has other plans for me...

for now, i will definitely put in more effort into my studies so that i can have a higher chance of studying the course of my choice....

i'm SiCK...

wah.... i'm SiCk....

today is the first time in my PHS school days that i left school early coz i was not feelin well...

it was during maths lesson when i started feeling very dizzy and could not focus...
i told zheng jie and he suggested that i should go home... so he brought me to find ms jasmiyanti... i called daddy and told him that i wanted to go home... i asked if he could pick me up from school but he said that he was at jurong... he told ms jasmiyanti that i was strong and could take a cab home myself...

so i took the leave form and zheng jie sent me off to take a cab from school... he flagged down a cab for me and i got home at about 11am...

i was feeling so hungry.. so i ate some noodles that my mum prepared and went to sleep at about 12nn... i woke up at about 3pm and ate some fish porridge that mum made... then she took me to the doctor at about 4pm.. at the same time, we took my height and weight...

my height was 176cm and my weight was 54.3kg... so my BMI was 17.5...

the doctor prescribed me some medication.... i had ~BRONCHITIS~
  • LITHROMAX (2 tablets every morning)
  • BEN/MUC (10ml for 3 times per day)
  • SEMPREX (1 tablet for 2 times per day)
  • SINGULAIR (1 tablet at bedtime)

i also have an MC for today until tomorrow... haix.. that means that i will be missing lessons... but i have asked jinshi to help me to take notes and zhengjie to help me collect my homework... i'm planning to do today's homework tomorrow... for now, i guess i shall go and rest...

Ms Chong's MOO day....

hey!!!

haha... today was MS. JOYCE CHONG'S MOO DAY!!!!

lol. it was her birthday and it was really special for her...

her NPCC cadets gave her a custom made bear for her and the whole unit made a circle around her and sung her 'happy birthday...' it was really sweet..

haha.. but i still think the student council was more 'thoughtful'...

lol.. first, we brought ms chong to the council room.. then we presented her the senior council's postcard (which was white and covered in brown spots...hmm...) and then the exco's card...

then we presented to her a huge 'pasar malam' bag... (she is said to be able to fit into it.. haha..) anyway, we began to take out the items in the bag and introduced them to her one by one... each had its special meaning :)

let me give a rough flowchart to give you an idea of our theme:
leather (smell) --> cow --> milk --> calcium --> strong bones --> tall-ness!!!

haha... here are a list of items that we got for her...

  • Cheezels [ingredients: 'milk and cheese solids (from cow)'... haha.. that's what it says..]
  • 18 cups of cheese cake [stay forever '18'...]
  • Dove Amicelli MILK chocolate...
  • Measuring Tape [self-awareness...]
  • Skipping Rope with counter [healthy growth programme..]
  • HL Fresh MILK [directions: to keep milk fresh, keep it in the cow!!]
  • 1 box of cereals [to go with the MILK...]
  • 1 bottle of COWca-COWla (coca-cola)... [ingredients: strawberries, yoghurt, fish & all other healthy food]
  • 1 size XXS white t-shirt with brown spots... and abit of shoe polish smell (that is supposed to smell like leather... hmm...) [front: CPL JOYCE; back: I AM TALL]

haha... today was fun... i enjoyed LICK cell today as well...

investiture is over!!

i have officially stepped down from my role as the president on friday!!

i was really impressed at how grand the occasion was... so glad to see cherlene and the other student council alumni coming back to support us!! the student guests were also impressed with the formality and 'class' of the event!!

haha... anyway, i will have to prepare for the EXCO handover meeting soon... but for now, i would like to blog about my handover speech in case my message was not clear during my speech!! haha... here it is:

"Good Afternoon, Elder Alvin Ooi; Mdm. Lee; teachers; fellow councillors and distinguished guests. Once again, welcome to our 6th Student Council Investiture! It is indeed an honour for me to stand here to represent the leadership of the 5th Student Council to give you my handover speech.

After a term as the president, it is really fulfilling to step down knowing that the Student Council is in good hands! With all the effort put in to mentor the next batch of councillors, it is encouraging to see them taking over the roles and responsibilities of the student leadership in our school with much eagerness to learn! The councillors have since created strong bonds with each other, showing care and concern when one of their own is in need of help and guidance!

The Student Council has grown much in the past year, both in strength and in unity. But I would like to remind the student councillors how they should act. The theme for this year’s investiture is “SOAR”, Serve, Obey, Aim and Rise.

First, they have to serve! Serve to lead, lead to serve. This is an important principle and we need to understand that we exist to serve the school.

Secondly, they have to obey God’s commands to live life the right way. God’s Word is always a reliable support to fall back on when in doubt.

Next, they have to aim, or set goals. Councillors, why do you think you are here today to be invested as student councillors? What do you want to achieve in your term of service?

Lastly, when they are successful in the previous steps, they can all rise together as one. To rise is very different from just achieving the best. When you rise, it is a very slow and steady process, which allows you to think about your next step, and to evaluate how you can make it better. We don’t want to go up too quickly and end up falling back to the ground!

I believe that every student councillor is not here by accident. I believe that God has planned for all of us to work together towards His purpose. We can rely on Him to create in us, servant leaders who possess depth and character.

Like what I did last year before I finished my speech, I would like to leave all of you with 2 verses from the Bible. It is taken from Obadiah 1:3-4. You can remember it by the date of today’s investiture.

13 July: Obadiah 1, 3 then you add the 2 verse numbers together to get 7, which is July.

3 The pride of your heart has deceived you,
you who live in the clefts of the rocks [a]
and make your home on the heights,
you who say to yourself,
'Who can bring me down to the ground?'

4 Though you soar like the eagle
and make your nest among the stars,
from there I will bring you down,"
declares the LORD.

THANK YOU & GOD BLESS!!"

6th EXCO- revealed!!

wah.....

so tiring... i just came home from the 1st investiture rehearsal and had my dinner...

today was a really exhausting day... i actually paid attention in class!!! it was really difficult to keep up with it!!! i know that i will be very busy after school with activities, so i decided that i had to do my studying during curriculum time...

the last 2 periods today was A MATHS with Ms. Tang... and it ended longer than usual... we were to complete 'some' exercises before we could go off!! i was having such a pressurising time and i was supposed to meet keqin immediately after school to go and cut my hair... but i was stuck in the classroom doing really simple, but tedious sums that took a really long time to complete!!

then i went for PD for a while (to see a disappointing turn-out...) but soon i had to go off to settle the 6th EXCO list in the council room... it was so tiring just thinking about choosing the right people... after that, we had the investiture rehearsal that was quite messy... the committee still was not very organised in running the rehearsal... it was not well thought-out beforehand...

then anadee and i had a discussion with jonathan until quite late... then i was asked to reveal the 6th EXCO list to the council!! i was so nervous that my hands were shaking!! i had to change to use my left hand to hold the paper with the results as it was vibrating so badly that i could not read it... haha...

but when i finally released the names, i felt a sense of relief- but i left everyone in an 'awkward silence' as i would say that this EXCO is really unexpected... but i'm glad that the decision was finally made after weeks of contemplating...

i'm really praying for the 6th EXCO that they will be able to takeover the leadership smoothly after the investiture... i believe that they can do it!! AMEN!!

Jun Ning has been discharged!!!

YEAH!!!

JUN NING HAS BEEN DISCHARGED FROM HOSPITAL!!!

haha... but he will be on MC until 13 July... he still needs to rest...

after church today, i went to Novena to meet greg, yc, steph and jiang wei to visit him at KK... however, before we left the MRT station, i gave Jun Ning a call and he told me that he had already been discharged and was having lunch with his family at Kopitiam in Novena Square!

lol.. it was a good thing that we had not left yet!! haha.. so we rushed up to look for him there!! and he was looking so much better in his own clothes (not in hospital clothes from a womens' and CHILDRENS' hospital.. haha..) ya, so anyway, he was holding on to a gigantic tigger balloon that sandra gave him... haha...

i'm really happy that he is finally out of hospital! i really pray that he will have a good rest so that he can join us back in school!!

i can't wait!!! thank God for his quick recovery!!!

HONOURS NIGHT!!

its 11.27am now...

wow... i just woke up...
i reached home at midnight...
so tired... haha...
but it has been a good day...

yesterday morning, jiang wei came over to my house at 9.30am to leave his full-u and stuff before we went off together to visit jun ning...

at KK, jun ning was looking much better.. they had already removed the tube from his stomach through his nose... the tube for his drip was moved to his left hand from the right as the needle had already been in for 3 days... he told us that he could be discharged on monday after 5 days of anti-biotics.... yea..

i was glad that he had made new friends with the nursing students from ngee ann poly... haha... oh ya... jun ning had not used the pacifier that we got for him.. haha.. so we made him suck the pacifier while jiang wei filmed it... lol. then jun ning wanted to go to the toilet, so he pressed the button to call for the nurse who helped him bring his drip to the toilet... meanwhile, jiang wei watched tv at one of the activity corners while i played with a toy that requires skill to move beads across coloured wires that were twisted all over... i found it so much fun, but jiang wei said that i had a 'deprived childhood'... lol.

anyway, jun ning's classmates came soon after that and we showed them the video that we filmed.. haha.. it was really funny.. they also brought him a banner that they made... it was really long and it said 'Get well soon, Jun Ning!" it was really nice! they asked me to help them to hang up the banner high up on the wall of his bed (i guess it was coz i am tall :) haha..

but then i got an sms from ms lim that i had to be in school by 1pm.. so i quickly left with jiang wei to have lunch at KFC in Novena Square.. then we rushed back home to get our stuff before heading to school.. then while i was having my meeting, jiang wei helped me to polish my equipment! thx man! :)

then at 2pm, the councillors started to gather and we all went to prepare the hall for the event... so everyone was busy preparing, we got dressed into full-u at 3.30pm, the UGs came at abt 4pm, had an early dinner at 5pm... then the welcome party consisting of alistair, jin shi, wenyan, yinxiu and myself went to stand-by at the foyer at 5.30pm... then the long wait began...

we waited anxiously until about 7pm before the Guest-of-Honour finally came... it was a really grand affair! jiang wei and phillip did a great job with the bagpipes, giving her a grand entrance all the way up to the hall... it was a great experience being a part of it...

after ushering her up, we went back to our seats to join in for the event... after the worship, speeches and presentations... it was finally the prize presentation ceremony.. it was a really long wait as i was one of the last few ppl to get my award.. but it was really exciting for everyone as we cheered for each other when we went up... when it was finally my turn to go up... i was so nervous that i just went up to the person presenting the award, shook her hand then took the plaque without even waiting for a photo! lol. i feel so weird now, coz i was really nervous then that i could not wait to get off the stage.. haha..

after it was finally over, i rushed down back to my table and left my award there.. then i quickly rushed down to the council room to get changed into my blazer... everything was happening so fast... after i got changed, i realised that my hair was in a huge mess! i was so worried that i quickly got wax then put it on my hair! but i didn't know how to style it! i don't normally 'style' my hair! lol.. so i quickly rushed out of the toilet to see who could help me! then i saw alistair in the council room and asked him to help me with my hair... lol. after that, i quickly rushed up as i was supposed to serve at the VIPs' table for dinner and i did not want to miss it... but when i got up, my councillors were shocked at my hair! lol. then janelle used her hand and ruffled my hair! iwas so surprised! she took me out of the hall again and helped me to style my hair! haha.. it was so weird...

when my makeover was finally over, i made it in time for the school song, after which, the dinner reception.. it was fun serving food and drinks to the VIPs as i had never done it before... lol.. during dinner, i was so happy that they played my video tribute to the 5th Student Council! haha.. my efforts had paid off!!

then the photo-taking began! i took photos with those 4H ppl who were there, with jiahui & greg & yc, (lol.. photo was too bright!) with greg, his mum and my mum! lol.. so all happened to fast!! finally it was time to send the GOH and VIPs off... it was encouraging to hear compliments about our councillors from them... i also think that the UGs on duty did a GREAT JOB!! i'm so proud of them!! it must have been really hard on them!!

then it was feasting time!! as there were still lots of food and drinks left in the hall, the councillors, backstage crew and UGs were allowed to come up to eat the food! haha.. it was really rewarding for them!! then it was more photo-taking for us councillors at the stage!! haha... after having so much fun, the job still had to be done, so we all helped out to clear up the hall...

after debriefs and all, everyone finally was dismissed to go home and have a good rest!! i really think that this experience will be remembered fondly by many ppl... there are more memories to be captured like for the upcoming investiture... haha..

to end off, THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR MAKING THIS THANKSGIVING & HONOURS NIGHT SUCH A SUCCESSFUL ONE!!!!

(anyway, its 1.45pm now... haha...)

KK Hospital Visit...

Jun Ning has Appendicitis...

he had an operation this morning at about 4am to remove his appendix..

so after school today, hong zhen, jieyi, stephanie, jiahui, keqin, jiang wei, gregory, yong chun, zheng jie, heng yong and i went down to KK hospital, Ward 55, Bed 24 to visit him... i had never been to a hospital for quite a while... so it was really new for me...

we bought him a "Men's Health" Magazine & a pacifier for him to pass the time... i wonder what he's gonna do with those things.. haha.. anyway, it was really painful to see him in the ward... he was attached with many tubes around his body... as if he was some electrical appliance... haix... i still feel so guilty that i even suggested to have lunch when he complained of stomach pains on Sunday (thinking that it was gastric)... i think i made it worse...

anyway, we went for lunch when the nurses said that they had to give Jun Ning medication and closed up the curtain... heng yong came later, so i went up with him to visit Jun Ning... then he showed us his scars from the operation which was even more painful and guilt-evoking... haix... Jun Ning also told us how the nurses gave him the medication... they put the tablet up his-

i think you wouldn't want to know the rest... it gave me and heng yong the chills...

anyway, i will continue to pray for Jun Ning to have a speedy recovery... and i shall go for the Honours Night rehearsal tmr...

YOUTH Sunday + MILK run

hey...

YOUTH SUNDAY WAS GREAT!!!

i had so much fun... (almost) everything was run by us, youths!! the band, ushers, set-up crew, speaker... i was an usher and i wore an orange "HUG ME" T-shirt outside my church auditorium to welcome ppl to church! lol.

Sunday church service was so different! there was even a space in front of the stage for people to sit on the floor! there was ice-breaker, dancing and a presentation of videos about the youth cells and the recent @lien Invasion Youth Camp at Batam!

unfortunately, i had to leave early and bring along the video camera (my sister was filming the event with it) and i rushed down to school from Orchard... i had no time to change so i wore the "HUG ME" T-shirt all the way down to Yio Chu Kang in the MRT... i think i didn't receive any weird stares... i think...

yea. so anyway, i made to school on time and we set off in 2 buses... when we finally arrived, i realised that we had stopped opposite Great World City, which was just beside my church... i wasted my time rushing down to school and ended up coming back to the same place! lol. but it was fun.

when we got to the ZOUK carpark for the MILK run, it was so crowded and noisy!! i had never seen the place before although my church was so nearby!! there were so many people!! we also met alistair, anadee, jinshi, jonathan and stephanie... we waited for the bagpipe band and pd to perform as we watched the various categories of races being flagged off! the community race had over 8,000 participants! it was really massive... 10mins after the flag off, more than half of the participants had not even reached the starting line!!!

the performance finally commenced at about 4.30pm... i will post the videos here soon... i think it should be quite stable.. i used jinshi's shoulder as a 'tripod stand' to support my video camera... haha...

anyway, today clement, gregory and jiang wei came over to my house to 'study' after we had lunch at food junction in j8... haha.. it was fun..

hmm... but on a more serious note... i found out that Jun Ning is in hospital... pls pray for him everyone! i know he will get better...

Good 'busy' Friday...

wow...

today was a really busy day... had the second and last day of "Celebrate Life!" Seminar in the morning... i attended a talk on 'Mass Communication" by Ngee Ann Poly, and 'Business Administration' by Nanyang Poly... but both polys ended up talking about their facilities and other courses in the school. lol.

after that, during assembly periods, there was a youth forum on the movie "Freedom Writers" that the whole school went down to watch... ms tang asked germaine and myself to carry out the forum just 1 hour before it!! lol. we were so unprepared that ms chionh ended up running the whole thing.. haha. it was very interesting...

after school, it got really busy... the sec1-3 BB boys gathered to meet mr teo about the milk run on sunday... i was disappointed that most of the sec1s did not stay back and just walked off... anyway, i had a quick lunch with greg after that and went up to the hall for the honours night rehearsal... it got really messy as everyone was all around and i was running around the place.. the UGs had to plan for the traffic control, i had to guide my councillors who would be doing the ushering in the hall and i had to prepare myself to collect my award...

when all that was finally done, i went down to find that pd had not started at all as they were not ready- but playing soccer... hmm.... anyway, we finally started at about 4.15pm... we trained until about 6pm and sent the boys off to go home and rest... i waited for johnson to finish planning the KAH and other stuff for the NDP before going home with him and huda...

yea. overall, it had been a really busy day... as usual... haix...

PD is also getting more active soon... which is a great thing for the boys.. haha.. but i hope that i can have enough of my own time to study... besides the performance for the MILK run on 1st July, we have also just accepted the performance for the "Hillary Challenge" closing ceremony organised by the MOE CCAB which will be held on 15 July... we might also be asked to perform for the BB Cares closing ceremony that should be around that time... another possible performance could be on the teachers day celebrations in september... so the PD schedule is definitely going to be filled up very soon... yup...

thank God for all these, but i'm still praying that i will know how to prioritise...

study now?

EXCO lunch gathering!!

wow...

today was quite fun... the 5th EXCO went out together to have a lunch gathering...
we settled at New York New York at City Hall!!! we ate a really fulfilling lunch (that cost us $127) and had a nice time of fellowship!!!

during lunch, we unexpectedly saw joel chia from a distance! we realised that he was with xiao min, bryan and jason... haha. they were having lunch too! - but it was at Macdonald's... haha... i think they must have been quite jealous... lol...

anw, after lunch, we went to walk around and unexpectedly ended up at the esplanade!!! we began to admire and appreciate all the artworks there... when the rest walked up the stairs, i thought i would try taking the lift up... but when the lift didn't move, i started panicking and pressing the buttons until it finally moved up to the 2nd floor! gave me such a scare... haha... next time i will just take the stairs...

then we went up to the roof terrace (or terrence, as we called it..) and took lots of group photos! we even asked a foreigner to help us take a photo of our butts!! lol. we also found coloured rocks and drew stuff on the tiles!!! took photos of that too!!

haha.. after that, we went back to Macdonald's at Marina Square to cool off with ice-cream! it was really hot up there at 'terrence'... then janelle was talking about her nalgene when i suddenly thought of the word, "janalgene"... interesting hor... haha... then Alistair, Saman & Jin Shi left, while the rest of us went with janelle to buy kim chi for her mum.. yup.. then after that we walked around Marina Square, then to Suntec, and finally ended up in Carrefour looking for expiry dates of our birthdays.... haha... wonder who's bright idea that was.... lol...

haha... in any case, i think that today's outing was a really meaningful one... we should do this more often! right guys? haha....

for now, its back to studying for the big 'O's....

  21. Yong Chun, 11.12pm
  22. Terrence, 11.46pm

yup. it was indeed something to celebrate about!! in fact it was a "double happiness"!!
haha. 2 June was also the date for this year's Founder's Men Awards Presentation Ceremony!! it was also the first time that it was carried out in a form of a lunch reception at such a grand place! i was really glad that i could spend my birthday with all my BB friends from 27th coy and even some other coys in Singapore! i really enjoyed the 9-course lunch, the fellowship and the memories in the photos that were created and captured then!

after that, when i boarded the bus that was to take us and our parents back to school, i was treated to an unexpected singing of "happy birthday" before we left! haha. it was really touching! :)

when we arrived in school, mr ong talked to us about helping out 27th coy after we leave PHS.. well, it reaffirmed my plan of coming back to serve! amen! then we took a few photos (that i still have not received), before changing back into our casual wear.. then we left school together and took the MRT to Yew Tee..

when we arrived, we took a short walk to Jieyi's place where i watched "Heroes" for a while on Phillip's ipod while the rest of them played cards.. haha.. after that, we went off to the games room in jieyi's condominium as she had booked it from 5-7pm.. i watched more of the exciting episode, then i played some cards (i didn't gamble.. lol.), carom, and most importantly, pool! i almost became the top scorer, i got the black ball (8) in at the end! ok fine, so what if i got the white ball in after that? lol.

anyway, these were the 16 people that came for my 16th birthday party!! lol.
Jieyi, Jia Hui, Jiang Wei, Hong Zhen, Gregory, Kennedy, Yong Chun, Zheng Jie, Wei Li, Benjamin, Kai Sheng, Joshua, Jun Ning, Phillip, Keqin and Jeriel!
Thank you, guys! everyone of you guys made a difference in my life!! :)

after a great time of fun & games, we returned back to jieyi's house where i got some gifts from them! (i shall list them out later) haha. then we went to Lot 1 for dinner! we had planned to eat together, but we decided that it was too crowded and had to split up. immediately, jiahui suddenly grabbed me along to bring me for dinner! i got a shock because we hadn't told them where we were going yet (and i had no idea where he was taking me at first)! but in the end i called keqin and told him where we were. we were at PIZZA HUT! i only had 2 dollars left! lol. i was totally taken aback when jiahui told me that he was going to treat me without hesitation! i really enjoyed that meal (although we ordered a "Hut's Couple Meal" that felt really awkward)...

we had planned to go to a "K-Box" thing after dinner, but then they realised that it was too expensive and quite late too! so in the end, we went to the arcade!! and we played some games and the one that i especially liked was "Bishi-Bashi"!! we played until our palms hurt from all that whacking! haha. there were 7 people whacking at that machine! lol.

on our way back home after that,

JIAHUI RECORDED A "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" SONG FOR ME

WITH HIS BEAUTIFUL SINGING VOICE!

(haha. sorry for not including this in earlier!) i really like it! thank you!

this year's 16th birthday was a really memorable one for me! i know i will always remember this day! i am really happy to know that God has given such great friends who really care for me!!

to end off, i just want to acknowledge and thank all my friends who have given me all these items (besides all the love and care that they have always been sharing):
